Teeth causing agony?

My teeth are killing me, so sensitive and the sensodyne is not helping at all. I take allot of medication and have been for a long time and i must say in the last 3 years my teeth have been so weak, they just break in half at times, they are not rotten and the dentist says they are fine but i feel like they are like glass! I have fibromyalgia could this be a factor, wondering if veneers would help. I can hardly eat or drink things unless they are luke warm :c. I am at the dentist tomorrow, should i ask about veneers? I'm only 24 and i'm sick of having fillings, it's making me scared of smiling I feel like a terminator! I brush twice a day and I don't have a sweet tooth, should I ask for a referral to the orthadontist?

veneers do not take away pain. get a rute canal, which will take away all ur pain. im sorry ur teeth are so bad =[ best of luck

Reply:Teeth don't hurt. It's the nerves in the gums that hurt. That can be because of rotten teeth or the cause could be completely unrelated. Ask your dentist to look into every possible cause of your pain, and if it's not in his department to give you a letter of referral to your doctor. (That way your doctor won't just tell you to get your teeth fixed)

Reply:Sounds like acid erosion. This thins teeth. Most common cause is drinking fizzy drinks especially diet ones or eating lots of fruit. It can sometimes be caused by stomach acid if you get sick alot or if you suffer from acid reflux. Fibromyalgia has nothing to do with it. Veneers involve cutting the teeth down so they will just weaken them further. Acid erosion strips the protective layer of enamel, hence the sensitivity.





Ask your dentist to prescribe duraphat toothpaste. It is high fluoride and is not available to buy over the counter. It takes up to 4 weeks to get rid of the sensitivity.
