There are dental access centres in most major towns in Britain, which provide emergency dental care for people not registered with a dentist. They just charge standard NHS prices. If you go on the NHS website there's a page to locate dentists in your area - type in your postcode and it'll bring up a list, if you go through it you should be able to find a dental access centre near you. Generally you can get appointments the same day, or the next day. I would NOT advise that you pull the tooth yourself, particularly if it's very badly decayed as it could easily break when you try to pull it, causing further problems.
I have a rotten tooth, cannot go to dentist. Anyone know of over the counter pain killers so I can pull it?
If your tooth is rotten, you NEED to go to a dentist. Go into the dentist's office tomorrow and say it's an emergency. Why would you want to prolong all that unnecessary pain?
Reply:OUCH! i don't think anything otc is strong enough to ease that kind of pain!
Reply:Sorry, there is absolutely NO otc pain med strong enough for that.
Why not contact your county social departement to see of you may be eligible for some kind of assistence?
I have had more than my share of abscessed teeth, I know how badly they hurt. I feel for you.
In the meantime, try your county hostpital ER. They may be able to help with some temporary pain relief and maybe point you in the right direction to get more help
Reply:dont worry about the otc, just have a friend get a pair of plyers and have him/her grab your tooth gently so you dont feel the preasure yet and have him count to three and then yank as hard and as quick as you can, it will bleed and hurt for a couple of minutes but it will go away and you will be happy.
Reply:There's no way you can deaden that tooth enough to pull it yourself. Now, what I did was I got on the net and sent emails to a ton of Dentist in my area and explained my situation and told them that I need one that would let me pay it out in installments and I actually got some answers. Tell them what you're thinking of and that you need their help. There are many that are compassionate. Try it sweetie or contact your local dental school if there's one and they do the work at a reduced rate. Good luck and don't do this yourself. If that tooth is infected, you need antibiotics and without them, the infection can get in your bloodstream and cause major problems.
Reply:I believe I have read somewhere pulling teeth can be very dangerous without the proper anti-biotics (i.e. blood can easily get infected). I would recommend letting a dentist do it! As far as pain killer I would probably chug down a bunch of 151 Rum or something very, very strong!!!
I did find this article below:
"I became a practitioner just recently. From the first time I read Zhuan Falun, it felt very familiar to me. Last week, several other practitioners and I read Lecture Seven of Zhuan Falun where Master talked about how someone was able to extract people's teeth with yellow liquid medicine. I had experienced the very thing in person.
It happened about twenty years ago. The economic reform was just getting started in China. The government began to allow street vendors to sell their goods inside of the so-called "free markets." But it was not entirely free at that time since once every two or three days the police or some investigation personnel would come to "clear up" the site.
I was young back then. My husband's grandmother was more than 80 years old. She had been bedridden for a long time because she had broken her leg. One day she began to suffer from unbearable toothache. My family brought several dentists to our home to see her. They all said that the only way to stop the toothache was to pull out the aching tooth. But considering her old age, no one dared to use anesthesia and then use a pair of pliers to pull out her tooth. The treatment was thus put off and my husband's grandmother suffered a great deal.
One day, I happened to pass by the free market on the way home after work. I saw a person sitting at the side of the street. He was clearly from out of town. He wore a home-made black jacket and pants that were padded with cotton and looked like a farmer. In front of him was a sign saying "Teeth-Pulling with No Pain. Secret Formulation. No Anesthesia, No Needles, No Blood and No Pain." I stopped to talk to him, and he promised that he could help my husband's grandmother.
After I got home, I discussed what I had seen with my father-in-law and mother-in-law. Everybody agreed to bring that person to our home and give it a try. So my father-in-law went out and soon brought the person back. Everyone came to Grandma's room to watch. We asked the person again and again if he knew what he was doing. My husband's grandmother was old and weak and she might die if something went wrong. The person didn't say anything. He just nodded with a smile. I can't remember his accent clearly. I was just looking at what he was doing. He was smoking a cigarette. He brought out a small bottle filled with yellow liquid and asked Grandma to open her mouth. He might have put some medicine in her mouth. I can't remember it exactly. I only remember that before long he used the cigarette butt to lightly push the tooth and the tooth came out from its root. There was truly no pain and no blood. Grandma didn't experience any pain! Everyone was shocked at that moment and didn't know what to say. I remember my father-in-law giving the person 5 yuan to thank him. It was a large amount of money back then. I was only making 33 yuan a month.
Because of the miracle that I had witnessed, I became interested in alternative Chinese medicine from that day on. Days later, I went back to the free market hoping to find him and buy some medicine from him. He was nowhere to be found. I heard the police had driven him away as a witch doctor. But he really was able to effortlessly perform a tooth extraction with his yellow liquid medicine.
