My teeth are hurting, can i take calcium supplements?

I brush my teeth about 2times a day, I also floss. But I noticed yesterday that my back teeth are hurting, about 3 on each side, I know that some women get rotten teeth when they are preg from the baby taking the calcium from them. Can I take supplements to protect my teeth and to give my baby the calcium it needs? I thought I was drinking enough milk, I also take Materna pills but its not enough.

I think it would be ok but your going to want to check with your OB first before taking anything.
Reply:I dont think they'll hurt, but you may want to consult a Dentist and a Doctor before doing anything. Especially if you're pregnant.
Reply:Yes take the supplements..there usually recommended anyhow
Reply:Yes you can... I took all of my prenatals but still that wasn't enough.. My eyes got worse while I was pregnant and some of the enamel came off of the top of two of my teeth. Just dont take too many of these calcium pills because that could hurt the baby. Take about one a day and make sure you drink atleast one glass a milk a day with this...
Reply:Yes, you most likely can, but be sure to talk to your doctor b/c you CAN take too much calcium, also ur body can only absorb around 500 mg at a time, so you don't want to waste it either. Your doctor can give you a supplement to take at a different time than the ones you are already on.
Reply:Could be TMJ. See a dentist.
Reply:I'm 7 months and was having a similar problem my midwife said i would be fine to take the calcium, its really helped me..so go ahead and take them but let your ob know that your taking them..congrats
