Rotten tooth- can it cause systemic problems?

I have been told I have a broken root and a massive infection. My feet have been swelling up and my nose has been having wierd sores breaking out on it and I have developed severe arthritis latelely. Will taking the bad tooth out cure this. It will cost 2 thou to take out and put in a bridge so hence the cost value analysis

Rotten tooth- can it cause systemic problems?
Rotton tooth causing systemic problems? possible but unlikely. A rotton tooth may cause systemic problems if it swells up so much that infection squashes your airway or it can get into your blood which would be really bad. but apart from that not really.

Infected teeth have no way of causing swollen feet, weird sores on noses, or arthritis.

Swollen feet is usually caused by poor circulation usually caused by something else. Weird sores on the nose are definately not caused by teeth, maybe you should get them checked out. Arthritis isn't caused by infection so there is no way it is affected.

Taking your bad tooth out is extremely unlikely to cure your arthritis, weird sores or your swollen feet.

You can still take out the tooth without getting the bridge, you will have a gap but it will be cheaper ;)

I am taking it that the tooth can't be saved with a root canal and a crown instead of pulling it?
Reply:yes, it can.

expensive with or without insurance.
Reply:Have it taken care of. Otherwise it can abcess into your sinus cavity, cause a septic blood infection, and a whole host of other serious, far more expensive problems.
Reply:Yes. A bad untreated tooth infection can spread. A friend of mine had to have his jaw hollowed out because and infection had spread into the bone.

Get it treated.
Reply:It should, Once the tooth is removed and you are given an antibiotic, it will clear up.
Reply:It can cause mass problems throughout your body; have the tooth extracted until you can afford the surgery. Go to a GP to make sure about the nature of the infection.
Reply:You can swallow the bacteria. The bacteria will enter the bloodstream causing god knows what to god knows where.
Reply:Even if you can't afford a new bridge right away, please.. for the sake of your health, have the tooth pulled right away. You have no idea of the health complications that can arise if you don't have this treated.
Reply:absolutely. the bacteria that is in the roots can get into your body and create havok. at the very least get it out asap. you may need to go on some anti-biotics. have you considered going to one of the local universities that offer a dental program. you can sometimes get the work done free or low cost by students. always supervised by their instructors. i would real soon. good luck.
Reply:You have an infection that needs to be treated definitively. I would never say that all of your mentioned problems will go away once you get rid of your bad tooth, although they might. You can have the tooth removed as a health issue without getting the bridge made, for now, and that will not cost $2,000.
